Here is the cold open for a comedy pilot I wrote entitled B.F.A. It’s a coming-of-age story based on my own experiences in art school, and the struggles of being a young artist. It’s set in the rural college town of Ithaca, NY and follows Matt Jones, a 19-year old sophomore that takes himself and his art way too seriously. His best friend Mia is much more adventurous and free-spirited. They both dream of becoming big-shot NYC artists, which is the crux of their relationship—how they are constantly trying to “make it,” and the conflict when one of them succeeds and the other doesn’t.
A teaser of Champion’s Gate: A 20-something desk worker must break her routine at a gated retirement community in central Florida to assemble a rag tag crew, and fight off the flesh-craving, elderly undead residents. It’s a zombie-comedy that gives homage to 80s B-movie gore and vulgarity.
